About Us

Welcome to SRS IAT

To deliver innovations and cost-effective technologies in agriculture to the end user through quality education, our beloved Founder Dr.Ramesh Nallappan, M.sc(Ag),Ph.D., established the SRS Institute of Agriculture and Technology (SRSIAT) in the year 2015 at Vedasandur, Dindigul district vide GO. (Ms) No. 197, Agriculture (AU) department, dated 28.09.2015. SRSIAT is Affiliated with Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. For capacity building of Indian youth in general and Tamil Nadu State in particular and for developing specialized skills in different disciplines of agriculture and allied fields, education at an undergraduate level is carried out in SRSIAT. The college has an excellent liaison with the state Department of Agriculture and other allied agencies to disseminate technical information through extension services.

Agriculture is the lifeline of the National Economy and its growth is vital for sustainable food security and the well-being of citizens. Seventy percent of the population is engaged in Agriculture and allied activities for their livelihood in our country. Technological innovations have greatly shaped agriculture throughout time. There are various innovations in agriculture in India already in progress. Even many startups are joining hands with the government and farmers to transform agriculture using new technologies and digital transformations. The Dindigul district and the surrounding areas are important places in the state for their Agricultural and Horticultural production. To deliver innovations and cost-effective technologies in agriculture to the end user through quality education, our beloved Chairman Mrs. K. Kalyanasundari established the SRS Institute of Agriculture      and Technology (SRSIAT) in the year 2015 at Vedasandur, Dindigul district

Vision

To undertake quality education, strategic research and extension activities for enhancing agricultural productivityand sustainability under a systems approach, resources conservation, involving an entire set of stakeholders on the value chain and quality of rural livelihood.

Mission

To develop knowledge, attitude and skill-based agricultural professionals, capable of undertaking rural development and poverty alleviation with quality.
