Course name : B.Sc Hons (Agriculture)
Duration: 4 – Years
Course objective: B.Sc Hons (Agriculture) involves the study of agricultural sciences and modern scientific equipment and techniques in agriculture. The objective of the course is to develop and innovate new technologies in agriculture which is locally acceptable and economically viable and to deliver the technologies to the farmers through quality education to improve agricultural production and productivity.
Course structure: Agricultural education is a broad term that includes disciplines of Agronomy, Agricultural entomology, plant pathology, soil science and agricultural chemistry, environmental sciences, plant breeding and genetics, seed science and technology, food science and technology, agricultural engineering, agricultural microbiology, agricultural economics, agricultural extension, etc. The B.Sc Hons (Agriculture) degree in India is typically a 4 – year course under a credit-based system. The program also includes a compulsory 1 semester of internship (Rural Agricultural Work Experience). Most of the courses are infused with practical and emphasis on “Hands-on training and learning by doing”.
